A split-second glimpse in a new U.S. Air Force recruitment video has reignited speculation about Boeing’s mysterious F-47 fighter jet. The aircraft, shrouded in secrecy since the release of the first images, now appears in a new form—yet still without any formal unveiling or official designation.

Until now, the public had only two visual references: a single photograph and an artist’s rendering. Both depicted a stealth fighter with canards and forward-swept wings, but neither revealed the full configuration. The newly released video, published on Friday, breaks that pattern.

In a brief segment, an advanced fighter jet is shown in full. It’s the first time we see the entire silhouette—albeit in low resolution and without any detailed explanation. Interestingly, the jet appears markedly different from the design previously shown by then-President Donald Trump when announcing Boeing had secured the contract for the so-called NGAD (Next Generation Air Dominance) program.

The differences are notable. Instead of the canards and visibly angled wings seen in earlier images, the jet in the video features a flat, blended fuselage with wings positioned far to the rear. Additionally, it sports twin separated engines and canted vertical stabilizers. The aircraft’s air intakes beneath the fuselage are not clearly visible.

The U.S. Air Force has made no mention of what aircraft is depicted. However, the jet’s visual profile resonates with those closely following the development of fifth- and sixth-generation fighter aircraft. It bears little resemblance to what has been previously presented to the public, inviting a new interpretation of what future air dominance might look like.
