They Criticized Musk – and Disappeared

Major voices fell out of favor on X, and their reach nearly vanished overnight.

When Elon Musk took over X in 2022, he promised unrestricted free speech. But three high-profile users experienced something quite different after publicly criticizing him.

Danish influencer Anastasia Maria Loupis once racked up millions of views — until she spoke out in December against Musk’s support for visa programs. Shortly after, her visibility plummeted and never recovered. She’s now preparing to sue both Musk and X.

American figures Laura Loomer and Owen Shroyer also saw their reach nosedive after joining the criticism. Both briefly lost access to X Premium, cutting off visibility and income. Loomer estimated she lost around $50,000 during the suppression.

“It has turned out to be all lies from him,” Loupis said from Denmark. “We truly believed in him.”

X declined to comment, maintaining that content is not downranked based on opinion. Still, Musk has hinted that accounts blocked or muted by major users — like himself — could see their reach limited.

To many, it appears free speech on X exists — but only if you don’t challenge Musk directly.
