The White House is currently considering a range of unconventional measures to encourage American women to have more children.

According to The New York Times, Trump’s advisers are discussing ideas such as a $5,000 cash “baby bonus,” fertility education focused on ovulation, and changes to government-backed scholarships that would favor married applicants or those with children.

Behind these proposals is a growing pronatalist movement, supported by figures like Elon Musk, Vice President JD Vance, and conservative think tanks like the Heritage Foundation. The goal is to reverse the declining birthrate and revive the traditional nuclear family.

“We need more children”

“We need more children in the United States,” Vance said earlier this year during the March for Life rally. President Trump has also declared that he wants to be known as the “fertility president.”

However, not everyone agrees with the proposed methods. Some Christian groups are skeptical of IVF treatments, which are otherwise endorsed by Musk. Instead, the Heritage Foundation suggests focusing on treating the underlying causes of infertility and expanding research into women’s health.

While the proposals have yet to be officially adopted, they mark a new conservative direction in American family policy — where fertility is no longer seen as solely a private matter, but a political priority.
