Target: Civilians – Russia Strikes Kyiv and Odesa with Drone Fleet
President Zelensky calls for international action after another brutal night of deadly attacks on civilian targets.
Massive Drone Attack on Kyiv
In one of the worst nighttime attacks on Ukraine’s capital, 315 drones struck Kyiv, resulting in widespread fires in civilian areas and destruction of infrastructure. For nearly five hours, the city was shaken by explosions, and thousands of people were forced to seek refuge in shelters.
Despite Ukraine’s air defense managing to shoot down many drones, the attack caused significant damage and fear among the population.
Odesa Under Attack
Meanwhile, Odesa was hit by a severe drone attack, damaging residential areas and a maternity ward in a hospital. Several people were killed and injured, including a 59-year-old man, and hospital staff had to rapidly evacuate patients. The attack on Odesa is one of many that highlight Russia’s targeting of civilian areas in cities.
