The nomination comes as Trump does not rule out using nuclear weapons in Iran.

As the world nervously follows the growing conflict between Israel and Iran, Pakistan has nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The selection comes in the wake of Trump’s successful diplomatic intervention during the recent crisis between India and Pakistan.

Trump – A Controversial Peacemaker

Last Friday, Pakistan’s government officially recommended Trump to the Nobel Committee, citing his “decisive diplomatic intervention and central leadership” during the conflict between the two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan, in May 2025.

Pakistan’s UN mission expressed optimism that Trump’s efforts for peace could be replicated in the current tensions between Israel and Iran.

At the same time, the mission emphasized their continued hope for diplomatic solutions: “We hope the situation does not escalate militarily but is resolved through diplomatic negotiations.“

The Contradictions of Peace

The nomination, however, comes at a controversial time.

While Trump is celebrated as a diplomatic peacemaker in South Asia, he has openly expressed support for Israel’s recent military operations against Iran. Trump is even actively considering whether the U.S. should participate in the campaign against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Despite this contradiction, Pakistan underscores Trump’s abilities as a diplomat.
“President Trump has distinguished himself as a peacemaker,” says Pakistan’s UN mission, pointing out that his intervention during the India-Pakistan conflict was crucial for the ceasefire.

Dangerous Double Play

Although Trump has managed to position himself as a peace figure in one region, he finds himself in the midst of a serious diplomatic crisis in another.

The dual role as a potential peacemaker and active participant in military conflicts leaves many questioning his true intentions and capacity as a peace prize recipient.

“Trump will make the decision on U.S. involvement in the conflict with Iran within the next two weeks,” says Karoline Leavitt, White House spokeswoman.

This statement leaves the world holding its breath as Trump balances between diplomacy and war.

Pakistan’s nomination thus places Trump at the center of a paradoxical and potentially explosive situation, where diplomatic solutions are still possible, yet military escalation constantly looms on the horizon.
