Elon Musk Launches New Party: ‘America Party’ Vows to Restore Freedom
With a direct challenge to America’s two-party system, Musk now positions himself as a catalyst for political change. His goal isn’t the presidency – but tangible influence in Congress.
Elon Musk has thrown a new political curveball. On US Independence Day, he announced the launch of the America Party – a movement intended as an alternative to both Democrats and Republicans.
“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Musk posted on X, following a poll in which 65.4% of respondents voted “yes” to breaking away from the established system.
Although Musk, being foreign-born, is constitutionally barred from running for president himself, he aims to secure two or three seats in the Senate and up to ten in the House of Representatives. According to him, that would be enough to exert significant influence on American legislation.
A recent survey by Quantus Insights suggests 40% of voters are open to supporting a Musk-backed third party – a clear sign of growing appetite for political change.
Donald Trump’s reaction to the announcement remains unknown. However, he has previously hinted he might consider deporting Musk or cutting federal support to SpaceX if their relationship were to sour completely.
With his trademark ambition and vast following, Musk is already shaping what could be a new political reality in the US.
All eyes now turn to see how Trump – and the political establishment – will respond.
