CIA Director John Ratcliffe has confirmed that the United States has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

The announcement came during an interview with Fox News, and has since been corroborated by reports from CNN and the Financial Times.

Ratcliffe stated that President Donald Trump wanted clarity on whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was genuinely committed to the peace process, and therefore decided to pause intelligence sharing as a strategic measure.

The decision is directly tied to the U.S. temporarily halting military aid to Ukraine—a move that followed a tense Oval Office meeting between Trump and Zelensky last Friday.

However, a source speaking to Sky News added a nuance to the situation:

“Unfortunately, yes, but not completely. It is selective. On the possibility of damage on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

This suggests that while intelligence sharing has been reduced, Ukraine may still be receiving U.S. intelligence regarding targets within Ukrainian territory.

The development raises new concerns about the level of U.S. support for Ukraine in its ongoing war effort, particularly at a time when military coordination and strategic insight remain critical.
