Pakistan Warns: Indian Attack Could Be Hours Away
Islamabad claims to have reliable intelligence on an imminent military action from the neighboring country.
Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, today warned that India is allegedly planning a military operation within the next 24 to 36 hours.
The statement comes in the wake of a bloody attack in Pahalgam, in Indian-administered Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed – the worst attack on civilians in the region in two decades.
India has accused Pakistan of supporting the militant forces behind the massacre. These accusations are categorically rejected by Islamabad, which now claims that New Delhi intends to use the attack as “a false pretext” for military intervention.
Tarar emphasized that “any form of military adventurism by India will be met with a firm and decisive response.”
Anger in India: “The Guilty Will Be Punished Beyond Their Imagination”
In India, the reaction has been marked by grief and anger. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has publicly vowed revenge against the perpetrators and those behind them. “We will hunt them to the ends of the earth,” Modi declared, adding: “Those who planned and carried this out will be punished beyond their imagination.”
The attack has led to more than 1,500 people being detained for questioning in Kashmir, with the number continuing to rise in the following days. At least 10 homes belonging to suspected militants have been demolished, and one of those arrested is believed to have a direct link to the shooting.

Kashmir – A Flashpoint for Conflict
For decades, Kashmir has been the focal point of conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Since the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, both countries have claimed the entire region, though it is now divided and administered separately.
The area has seen an armed insurgency against India since 1989, with both civilians and soldiers targeted in attacks over the years.
The recent massacre has heightened fears that the conflict could escalate – particularly as both sides have already exchanged fire across the border in recent days.
Who Is Behind the Attack?
Although Indian authorities have not yet officially identified the responsible group, police have named three of the four suspects.
Two are reportedly Pakistani nationals, while the third is from the Indian-administered part of Kashmir. No information has yet been released about the fourth attacker.
A group called “The Resistance Front” was initially mentioned as responsible, but has since issued a statement denying any involvement. The group is believed to have ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba – a Pakistan-based militant organization.
