Negotiations to Resume Friday: US Sees Hope for Iran Deal
While tensions between Iran and Israel have reached new heights, the US is now opening the door slightly for diplomacy.
On Friday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet with top European diplomats in Geneva, and according to the White House, there is a “substantial possibility” for new fruitful negotiations.
Trump Awaits Diplomatic Outcomes
“Due to the substantial chance for negotiations with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision within the next two weeks,” President Donald Trump says via his press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The statement comes after a week filled with speculation about potential US military intervention to support Israel’s efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Leavitt also emphasizes the president’s clear stance: Any potential deal must not allow any enrichment of uranium.

Iran Closer to Nuclear Weapons Than Ever
“Iran has everything they need to achieve a nuclear weapon. They only lack a decision from the country’s supreme leader, and production could be completed within a few weeks,” warns Leavitt, emphasizing that this would not only threaten Israel but also the US and the rest of the world.
Nevertheless, she maintains that Iran is “not able to reach the goal” as long as the US and Israel continue their pressure and attacks on the country’s facilities.
Europe Seeks a Diplomatic Solution
The upcoming negotiations in Geneva involve high-ranking diplomats from France, the UK, Germany, and the EU. “France, the UK, and Germany stand ready with our expertise and experience,” says French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, emphasizing the desire for a long-term rollback of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
For Trump and the US, the ball is now in Iran’s court. The president’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has already presented a deal that, according to Karoline Leavitt, is both “realistic and acceptable.”
The question is whether Iran will accept the offer or risk facing “severe consequences.”
The coming weeks could be crucial for the region’s stability and to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
