After months of stalled negotiations, the conflict in Gaza now appears to be reaching a decisive point.

According to Israeli media, Benjamin Netanyahu aims for a complete occupation of the Gaza Strip, while Donald Trump is working toward a more radical approach: an all-or-nothing deal with Hamas.

“No partial solutions. It doesn’t work,” said the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, in an audio recording leaked to Ynet. He emphasized the desire for a comprehensive solution that would ensure “everyone comes home.”

Netanyahu’s Military Plan

In the coming week, Netanyahu is expected to present an updated military strategy, which reportedly includes a full takeover of Gaza. “The decision has been made – we are pursuing a total occupation of the Gaza Strip,” a senior official close to Netanyahu told Ynet.

The decision has met both support and opposition within Israel, amid growing internal pressure for a resolution after the release of videos showing emaciated Israeli hostages.

International Protests on the Rise

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening by the day, with reports of famine and massive destruction following Israel’s airstrikes.

UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Michael Fakhri, has called Israel’s blockade of Gaza “the most effective starvation machine imaginable,” repeatedly referring to the situation as “genocide.”

Trump in a Diplomatic Race

For Trump, the focus is on rapidly securing a comprehensive resolution that includes the release of hostages and the disarmament of Hamas.

Pressure is mounting both internationally and from Israeli security officials, who have urged Trump to take immediate action.

At the same time, there is a growing risk that with their conflicting strategies, Netanyahu and Trump could escalate the conflict to new levels of violence and suffering unless the parties soon reach an agreement.
