Canada has announced a new military aid package to Ukraine valued at $35 million. The assistance includes combat-ready LAV 2 “Coyote” reconnaissance vehicles and Bison armored personnel carriers. The Coyote is armed with a 25 mm cannon and suitable for reconnaissance, while the Bison transports up to eight soldiers and is equipped with lighter weaponry.

In addition to the vehicles, the package also includes ammunition and electronic warfare equipment worth $5 million, which will be produced by Canadian defense companies. Canada prioritizes both technical support and capacity building.

An essential part of the effort is pilot training. Over the next five years, Canada is investing $389 million in training Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 jets and utilize modern airbases. The aim is to ensure that both technology and personnel can effectively integrate into the defense.

Unlike previous donations, where the equipment needed to be manufactured first, the Canadian Coyote and Bison vehicles are already ready for shipment. This means rapid delivery and an immediate enhancement of Ukrainian mobility and combat power.
